Mmmm, Fresh Gear!

The good folks at Sony are rumoured to be working on a full frame NEX … we chat about this and what it means to the mirrorless systems, some Samsung goodness (Galaxy NX, anyone?) and more! We also chat about a photography chat on Twitter, #photochat!

Preventing Ballhead Blues

It was time for me to purchase another ballhead and this time around, I found some restrictions when trying to choose a ballhead. We cover a few points to consider before handing over your hard earned cash.

Workflow 101

As photographers, we know how important the steps of workflow are, but here’s a good question for you — where does workflow start? In the camera? At the computer? When you first have vision of a particular shoot? We break down the step for simplifying your workflow. It’s always a work in progress with steps being added, removed or tweaked. We have both improved our workflow over the past couple of years and share some of the changes we have made and what we need to work on.

Bits ‘n Bites

Do you have any tips for creating an effective workflow? If so, please share! Are you interested in the full frame NEX or even the sort of sexy Samsung Galaxy NX? Anything else on your photography lovin’ mind?

Sony & Fuji Chat, Our Kickin’ Listeners and More!

Mac has some beef with his Sony NEX and the Milky Way and needed to chat about it. We also chat about a couple of X-Pro 1 happenings! One of our awesome and oh-s0 patient listeners, Chris Tan, asked us a question and we finally answer it on the show.

Is Photography Unforgettable?

This is a tough, tough subject to tackle, as everyone has an opinion on whether we take too many photos, and if we do take photos, are we effectively doing so? Does every photograph need to tell the viewer a story? A recent article in the Globe and Mail fired us up and we took to our mics in an attempt to dissect this tricky topic. Please tune in and see if you agree or disagree with us or the judges opinions / decisions as mentioned in the article. We somehow became lost in audio translation with our rambles (it happens!) as we made our way through this topic, but hopefully you will have something to think about at the end of the show!

Bits n’ Bites:

What are your thoughts on the amount of photographs we take? Do you think we are overdoing it? Why or why not? If you’re a Sony NEX user, have you run into the same issues as Mac did, or better yet, do you have a solution? Are you excited for focus peaking to hit the little Fuji X-Pro 1?

Before we dive in with volunteer work, we have to get some gear chat over with first! Of course with CES 2013 only hours away, the rumours continue to swarm over expected announcements from Fuji and Sony. Have a listen as we discuss what the possibilities are for potential gear goodness.

Your Camera + Your Time

There is something rather inspirational about photographers (or any volunteers in any capacity) who give their time and use their talent for the greater good. With a brand new year, we figured it would be a great topic to think about what you can do in 2013 to make an impact. Tune in for some ideas and hear about some wonderful photographers who are already leading by example.

Bits & Bites

Have you ever volunteered your time and photography in the past? We’d love to hear about it! Or maybe you are already planning to do so or will be inspired to make a difference. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this or any matter, of course! Please join in the conversation on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, or this blog. As always, iTunes is just waiting for your subscription to our little ol’ show.

Happy New Year, friends and listeners alike! We thank you so much for continuing to tune in!
