One More for The Road

We couldn’t think of a better way to send me off than to have some of our favourite guests and great friends of the show, Antonio, Bryan, Dom and Dave, join us for one last hurrah! Please join us as we chat about all things photography on my last night!

Big thanks to the chaps for joining us tonight. Please make sure you check out their work (links below). It meant a lot to me to be able to sign off with great photographers and friends around me.

Thank you to all of our listeners and guests over the last 7 years and 200+ episodes. It truly has been such an incredible journey for me and I have learned so much about myself, photography and have enjoyed a real sense of community over the years thanks to you all. I have been inspired, challenged, fascinated and so much more by your work and your stories. I am going to miss you all like crazy!

Most of all, thank you to my great friend and co-host, Mac. I have enjoyed podcasting with you more than you could ever know. I am going to miss our routine, your stories, questions, locking horns with you, and especially the laughter we have shared from doing the show. Thank you for taking this journey with me! I look forward to your new adventure with Shutter Time and you know I’ll be tuning in. Keep on changing the conversation!

Cheers, y’all!

New Podcast

Our great friend and fellow podcaster, Clay, has started another podcast – this time it’s a solo adventure, on his thoughts on photography: Through My Lens with Clay Daly. This show is definitely worth adding to your favourite podcatcher!

Tweet This

A couple months ago, our great friend, Bryan Minear, had tweeted a wonderful image with an intriguing comment, “Photography was the only way I could come close to fulfilling my childhood dream of being an astronaut.” For such a simple statement, it led us to wonder what opportunities photography can bring us, so we took to the mics to discuss the possibilities with Bryan and Usually Happy Dave, formally known as Dave Szweduik. Please join us as we discuss these opportunities and lessons learned from photography.

Huge thanks to Bryan and Dave for coming back on the show! Please check out their work if you haven’t done so yet (links below).

Podcast Junkie?

Dare I say our awesome gal pal of the show, Laurie (a.k.a. @HaveTeaCup) is turning into a photography podcast junkie? We of course love it and were happy to throw some names in the mix when she asked us for some suggestions. If you have yet to check out these awesome podcasts (list below), please take the time to do so! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to discuss some other shows, Laurie!

Say What?

A conservation between UHD and Mac about whether to spend the time learning something we feel we will not use or need down the road sparked this topic. Please join us as we hit the mics to discuss if there is any merit in this madness!

Oops, We Did it Again.

Sidnado

With @supercellsid as my Twitter handle, it wasn’t too surprising I went nuts over this new series from our listener and good friend of the show, Laurie (@haveteacup). We will let her tell the full story on her blog, but she has been starting to discover her photo DNA and this journey has led her to an incredible treasure, wonderfully named, The Thelma Files. Make sure y’all check out her blog and Instagram for more goodness on this series about her grandmother, a photographer and storm enthusiast!

SmugMug + Flickr = True Love?

It is no secret to many that SmugMug has scooped up the often-neglected photography sharing site and community, Flickr. What exactly does this mean for Flickr members? Is this a match made in heaven or does it spell the end of the Flickr we once knew and loved? Please join us as we discuss Sidnados, SmugMug, voices in your photography and more (inspiration vs. appreciation, y’all!). You can also listen to our Mac have a great discussion about this new SmugMug + Flickr journey on the excellent podcast, Cybrcast, episode 091.

You Asked. We Listened.

Laurie, better known as our Honorary Shutter Time Topic Executive Producer Director of Programming, tweeted she wanted to know more behind one of the images Bryan had tweeted, saying it was his most meaningful image made to date. Of course, we were thrilled to have another reason to get our great friend, Bryan Minear, back on the show to talk about his latest work and more!

Batman
Once again, our great friend of the show, Usually Happy Dave, answered the bat signal when I could not make it to the recording. So, another Shutter Time boys night was born! Please join Mac, Bryan and Dave as they continue the discussion of making meaningful images, what is involved to make such an image and more!
