Episode 201 »» What Can Photography Bring Us with Bryan and Dave

New Podcast

Our great friend and fellow podcaster, Clay, has started another podcast – this time it’s a solo adventure, on his thoughts on photography: Through My Lens with Clay Daly. This show is definitely worth adding to your favourite podcatcher!

Tweet This

A couple months ago, our great friend, Bryan Minear, had tweeted a wonderful image with an intriguing comment, “Photography was the only way I could come close to fulfilling my childhood dream of being an astronaut.” For such a simple statement, it led us to wonder what opportunities photography can bring us, so we took to the mics to discuss the possibilities with Bryan and Usually Happy Dave, formally known as Dave Szweduik. Please join us as we discuss these opportunities and lessons learned from photography.

Huge thanks to Bryan and Dave for coming back on the show! Please check out their work if you haven’t done so yet (links below).

You Asked. We Listened.

Laurie, better known as our Honorary Shutter Time Topic Executive Producer Director of Programming, tweeted she wanted to know more behind one of the images Bryan had tweeted, saying it was his most meaningful image made to date. Of course, we were thrilled to have another reason to get our great friend, Bryan Minear, back on the show to talk about his latest work and more!

Batman
Once again, our great friend of the show, Usually Happy Dave, answered the bat signal when I could not make it to the recording. So, another Shutter Time boys night was born! Please join Mac, Bryan and Dave as they continue the discussion of making meaningful images, what is involved to make such an image and more!

4 Chaps + One Lucky Woman

We were lucky enough to have 3 of our favourite photographers and friends of the show on for a good chat. It was our first show with 5 people and we had a blast recording and of course, chatting post-show. Antonio M. Rosario, Bryan Minear, and Dave Szweduik joined Mac and myself to continue the conversation from our last show, episode 172 »» Making a Splash and Giving It Away for Free. The show idea came from Antonio as he live-tweeted whilst listening to our show, with Bryan and Dave joining in on the Twitter chat. Thankfully these chaps were free and next thing we knew, we were all rocking the mics together. Please join us as we carry on the conversation!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic – what do you feel the pros and cons of joining sites like Unsplash are? Do you feel as a photographer, you have any responsibility to other photographers, and even ‘the industry‘ itself? Please chime in and join the convo! You can find us on Twitter and Bookface and here on the blog. Of course you can subscribe for free via iTunes or Stitcher!

After 170+ episodes, we have decided to enter the Patreon world, and if you’re so inclined, we would love and appreciate any support. We still need to tinker with the page a bit, however we are up and running! Longtime listeners know we refer to you/them as our sponsors, and this will never change. Most importantly, Mac and I appreciate the support all listeners give us by tuning in and interacting with us, as well as other listeners. Your ears and your time = your true sponsorship.

Huge thanks to Antonio, Bryan, and Dave for clearing your schedules and coming back on the show. These 3 chaps are some of the loveliest, talented, and genuine good guys around and it’s always a blast and rather humbling when they come back on the show. Please take some time to look at their work if you haven’t done so yet (links below).

Thanks again to Antonio for live-tweeting our last episode and for the show idea for 172.

Thanks for tuning in, folks!

Cheers, y’all!

He’s Back, Y’all

It’s been a while since we’ve had our good friend, Bryan Minear, on the show, so we had him come back on for a good ol’ chat to see what’s new with him. We also learn what’s been happening in his photographic world this year, as well as find out the backstory to his wildly popular and beautiful solar eclipse image. Please join us for episode 168 as we catch up with one of our favourite guests!

When Once Isn’t Enough

After this tweet, we knew we needed to continue the conversation from our last episode, Episode 153 »» Arting with Dave Szweduik, so we not only brought Dave back for more, but we also invited our good pal, Bryan Minear, back for a chat!

Please join us as we further discuss the art of arting with these two great friends of the show! We also take some time to catch up with Bryan to learn what he has been up to these past few months. We are also happy to hear Dave is back with season 2, episode 101 of his vlog!
