Episode 7 ~ Douchebaggery in Photography?

Happy Mac

He updates us on his Snapseed app (from Nik) woes!

When Worlds Collide

The fine line where the old school, real world of photographers and the growing trend of famed Internet photographers was drawn is becoming blurred of late with the increasing numbers of Google + photographers taking the world of photography by storm. What’s all the fuss about? With the colliding worlds of photographers, we are also seeing another trend evolving – online bullying in photography. Is this really acceptable in our photography community? We chew over just this and more!

Bits ‘n Bites

Techie woes: Skype has been challenging us the past few episodes, so please bear with us during some of the audio blips here and there. We’re on a mission to come up with a resolution!

Thanks again for the feedback. We appreciate it and we’re thrilled you keep tuning in for more.

Thanks for tuning in!

Cheers, y’all!

Episode 6 ~ Staching Social Media

Movember

We thought we’d shake things up a little bit here at Shutter Time and add Mo Bro Alberta photographer, Randy Pond, to the team. But just for tonight, as we don’t think we could afford to buck up (read: pay the bribe!) every week! It was an honor and a blast to have Randy on the show as our first official guest. Check out Randy’s Movember campaign as he raises money this month is support of men’s health. A most definitely worthy cause and yet another great reason to see men rock the ‘stache!

Food for Thought

Episode 5 garnered some feedback, most of it being away from the blog. One of our listeners left us a comment and asked us a great question. Thanks for the feedback, Michael! Have a listen to hear what we’re talking about!

Social Media

With the undeniable explosion of social media these past couple years infiltrating the world of photography, it can be somewhat overwhelming. We’d love to hear your take on social media in photography, from either a photographer’s POV or maybe you’re a SM pro and can offer any tips or advice for photographers to maximize the potential social media can bring us!

Bits ‘n bites:

Thanks again to Randy, who not only entertained us throughout the discussion, but left us with the best sign-off to date! You’ll have to listen to the show to hear it … it’s worth it, I promise. Star Trek fans would approve!

Stay tuned to Twitter to see what we’re going to chat about next!

Thanks for tuning in this week!

Cheers, y’all!

The Ipad Blues

Mac, being the ever so dedicated photographer, decided to add his iPad 2 to his workflow, but ran into some obstacles along the way when it came to a photo editing app, Snapseed. Have a listen to his troubles and if you can offer some insight or a solution, please leave a comment below!

Workshops, Tours, Seminars, Oh My!

What the hell is the difference between a photography workshop, photo tour or seminar, you ask? Good bloody question. Since there are no clear definitions, we took some of what the photographers who offer such services define them to be and then came up with our own conclusion. Have a listen, as we break them down as best we can and offer some suggestions on helping choose what’s right for you.

If you have attended a workshop (online or in person), photo tour or expedition, seminar or have taken an actual photography course, why not tell us about it? We’d love to hear the opinions of others.

Christa Meola: Mac’s a huge fan. ‘Nuff said. You might just have stumbled upon Mac’s little secret

Episode 4 ~ Photography Workflow

Canon’s Big, Bad Announcement

We all knew it was coming. We may not have gathered around the watercooler at work to discuss it, but the murmurs of what Canon’s next professional DSLR body could possibly be most likely escaped our lips. Have a listen to hear our thoughts on this new beast.

Your Photography Workflow

To say this is a critical component of your photography is an understatement. If you are struggling with your workflow yourself or are wanting to tweak it some, you might want to take some notes as Mac breaks down his workflow and offers some tips on developing one that works for you.

Bits ‘n Bites

As always, we thank you for taking the time to listen to our photography ramblings. We love the feedback that’s been coming in and we encourage y’all to leave a comment here or on Twitter about the show or anything photography related. Don’t be shy, now … Fresh blood = great discussion!

Hope you enjoy the show!

Thanks for listening!

Cheers, y’all!

Episode 3 ~ Mixed Bag of Nuts

Our Mixed Bag of Nuts

We appreciate y’all listening to our first two podcasts and most definitely enjoy the feedback (critique?). Please keep it coming.

Speaking of feedback …

Back to Episode 2

We certainly received a bit of feedback over this episode. Some folks did not agree with us (and that’s ok!). We briefly revisit critique in photography.

Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk 2011

Mac did not officially attend the walk this year as previously planned, but he did choose to be a rebel and crash the party with his 10 year old son. Two Sokulski chaps armed with cameras on the loose, tearing up Whyte Avenue with other photographers. At the end of the day, the Sokulski men had a great day, hanging out and documenting the world around them through their lenses. Isn’t this what photography is really all about?

A Peek Into My Camera Bag

This is where we may or may not have rambled a bit (meh, it happens!). While we are going to have a proper full podcast of delicious gear chat for gearheads down the road, Mac turned the tables on me and asked me a few questions about my gear.

Bits n’ Bites

Now it’s time to shine the bright light on you! If you participated in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk, in which city and how did it go? Tell us about it!

Thanks for listening!

Cheers, y’all!
