Shutter Time with Sid and Mac podcast. Episode 87 »» What's Your Photographic Style? Join us as we chat about finding your photographic voice and discovering your shooting / editing style! We also cover some recent gear rumours … mmm…gear!

It’s About Time

Canon, I’m talking to you! No, there is no new pro body between the 1Dx and Canon M3 yet …but after a long, long time, it looks like the EF 100-400 ƒ4.5-5.6L IS II lens is finally going to show its refreshed face (front element?) at Photokina in September! It’s not going to be cheap, and it looks like Canon is continuing with their trend of seriously jacking up prices of new replacement lenses! You can check out all the scoop at Canon Rumors, y’all. We also chat about a couple rumours regarding the Fuji X-Pro2 and X100s successor. Really, would this be a proper podcast if Mac didn’t get in his Fuji time? Rawr.

Self Discovery

It takes a while …sometimes a very long while, to discover your photographic voice … essentially who you are as a photographer. Once you figure out what genre(s) you like to shoot the most, often we try to figure out our style, not only behind the camera, but also in post with our editing. Do you make an effort to shoot and edit in a distinctive style or are you all over the map, doing it dirty?

Do You Like It?

Often the first step of finding your inner photo-jedi is to see what others in the world of photography are doing. Do you scout the internet for images that grab your attention in one way or the other? What kind of work do you find yourself flocking to, giving a like, fave or +1? How does this influence your own photography? Do tell.

Money Money Money!

I feel like I’m writing about The Apprentice. Remember that show? This definitely relates to the big ol’ wallets of those in the same league as Trumpland. We discuss some of the most expensive photographs ever sold! We’re talking big bucks, y’all.

We’d love to hear what your thoughts are on these topics! What do you think about these crazy prices for photographs? Is any one image really worth such high numbers? How do you feel about your own style / photographic voice? Do you think you have one yet? Keep joining in and head to our Facebook, Twitter and G+ to keep the conversation flowing! As always, you can subscribe for free via iTunes!

Thanks as always for tuning in!

Cheers, y’all!
